Description: 10 Volumes - The Era of Change: Prime Minister General Michel Aoun. P.M. General Michel Aoun was a military leader who became the most renowned politician in the modern history of Lebanon… General Michel Aoun, "the story of a General" sums up in its chapters some of the bloody and peaceful scenes of "conflict overpower in Lebanon". The American, French, and Syrian signaled a green light to remove the prime minister of the transitional cabinet from the internal Lebanese scene; they turned a rebellion against the status quo, and facilitated the launching of the "Taef Republic". From this point, a new face of the General's contention began, whereby he took off his military uniform to lead the battle of "Solidarity, Freedom & Independence" as a civilian. The prime minister who resided at Baabda palace, designated the French Embassy as his residence for 11 months. After that period, the journey of compulsory exile continued for 15 years of isolation and banishment. However, the General who was subdued by the long years of Parisian imprisonment became the "General of Solidarity" without competition. He made a promise to the Lebanese people to retain the final independence, and made an oath not to come back to Lebanon except after its liberation from the last Syrian soldier on its Land. On May 7,2005 General Aoun fulfilled his promise & returned to his liberated and honored land. He addressed "The Great Lebanese People" one more time from the Martyrs' Square, and became once more a part of the internal Lebanese game. However, this time he played, not from his exile, but while seated at the table and being a major partner who could not be overlooked. This time his "political discourse" could not be ignored, and he admitted to his opponents, more than his allies, his permanent commitment to this discourse.
